Post Office and Shop Update March 2010
Dear All
This is just a general note to let you know the current state of play. We now need to move towards the next phase in the life of the shop. This involves fund raising along side the Village Hall Committee to improve the facilities on the site which will include a permanent shop.
The village must now consider electing a new committee (according to the rules of a Co-operative). The committee must be elected from amongst the members of the NCS (shareholders). The normal duration for the members to sit on a committee is just one year. We will be in touch shortly with the timings for the elections and will be inviting shareholders to put themselves forward for election to the committee. If you would like to be considered for election please do let me, or any of the existing committee know. Please also ask others in the village, if they are eligible, to become committee members. Not everyone who is a shareholder has access to the interenet and e mail so please do spread the word.
The NCS main focus now must be to fundraise for permanent premises and to this end we will be working with the Village Hall Committee. Anyone with fundraising ideas is encouraged to organise an event. We already have some
interesting ideas in the pipeline. Please add yours.
